Every January, MIT offers a course called The Nuts and Bolts of New Ventures. It’s the largest cross-registered course at MIT, and Inc. Magazine declared it “one of the ten best courses in entrepreneurship in the country.” On January 12, I taught one of the two 90-minute sessions for the evening. It’s a volunteer activity for me, but I felt like it’s an honor to be included. We usually do it in a classroom in Cambridge for somewhere around 230 people. This year, of course, it was on Zoom, which changed everything. The silver lining (I guess) was that 450 people signed up, and they came from all over the place, including India and Russia. It was pretty intense, looking at all those faces on my computer screen. And of course it was recorded, so all my blunders will live forever on the internet. Nevertheless, the course is awesome, and it was a privilege to participate.
The talk is now online, and it’s free:
